A long established sole legal practitioner in Lowestoft has joined forces with local firm Fosters.

Mary Smith has been operating in her own right since 1993. The merger with Fosters has led to ‘Fosters incorporating Mary Smith Solicitors’. Both Mary and her assistant, Nicola Cooper, will also be joining the new organisation at its offices in Clapham Road South.

Originally from the West Midlands, Mary Smith qualified in 1977, moving to Lowestoft in 1987. Since running her own business she has specialised in property, wills and probate.

“Mary has a great reputation in the area for providing top quality services and we are delighted she has chosen to merge her business with us,” said Foster’s partner, Damien Moore who runs the Lowestoft office.

“She will be working with us for three days a week which will ensure complete continuity for her valued clients but also allow her time to pursue her many other interests.”

Fosters acquired the Lowestoft firm of Dunne & Crome in 2007 giving it its first base in the town and now has a total of eight offices across East Anglia employing 120 staff.
