Local growth minister Penny Mordaunt said he she “impressed” on a visit to a New Anglia Enterprise Zone in Lowestoft this week.
Ms Mordaunt visited the Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft Enterprise Zone at Mobbs Way on Wednesday. Construction work on the site is nearly complete with nine out of 14 units already let and another under offer. Tenants include commercial roofing company, CCC Roofing & Cladding, offshore engineering firm LOS Electrical Engineers, vehicle design and graphics business, Livery Solutions Ltd, Treats & Sweets, a confectionery and pet treats distribution company and Brierley Imports, an import and distribution company.
Landowner and developer MS Oakes Securities Ltd invested £2million in the site. The minister met its director, Trevor Water, and local politicians. “So much has been achieved in the last 18 months in what was effectively a derelict site,” she said. “I met people with confidence and an understanding of the local area who want to make the place thrive.”
