A Suffolk enterprise agency will be helping businesses to gear up for the biggest change to data protection in 20 years at events in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.
Menta is holding masterclasses in General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into force in May next year.
The change will have “a profound effect” on the way businesses, organisations and charities gather, store, secure and maintain their data, it said, with nearly all companies and organisations and some individuals likely to be subject to the GDPR as they are classed as either ‘controllers’ or ‘processors’ of personal data.
Chief executive Alex Till said businesses would have to be “more accountable” for their handling of personal information. Trainer Robert Masson of The DPO Centre said the four-hour classes were ideal for those tasked with compliance.
