A sheep farm is hoping to start a “mini-mutton renaissance” in Suffolk.
Jason Gathorne-Hardy, of Alde Valley Lamb at Great Glemham, near Saxmundham, has created a new brand, Alde Valley Mutton.
“We are starting with a small batch that is going out in February - to Lamberts abattoir, and then to Wild Meat Company and a range of local outlets on East Suffolk,” he said.
“I am very keen to raise awareness of this meat - which is much under-rated - and of our local meat supply chains.”
Among his first customers are Friday Street Farm Shop and Middleton Farm Shop.
