Utility contractor BTS Group has been awarded a contract to carry out work in Scotland for Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution, which delivers electricity to around 750,000 customers in the north of Scotland.
Needham Market-based BTS will provide labour, tools and equipment in Aberdeenshire to clear vegetation wherever it interferes with powerlines.
BTS operations director Darren Clark said: “This major achievement confirms BTS as a company of national status and as a leader in the UK.”
The work, which has already begun, will focus on the areas of Huntly, Inverurie and Inch and has created eight new jobs within BTS, which has more than 600 people operating across large areas of the UK.
