Work has started on the creation of a new gym on the Waterfront in Ipswich.
Chris and Deborah Hayden are aiming to open their Anytime Fitness business in March.
Mrs Hayden said: “It is part of our retirement to start this new business. It is all very exciting; it is a massive investment for us.”
“Chris has travelled with business, all over the world. And we lived for two years Laguna Beach, California, where people take their health and fitness very seriously.
“But we love Suffolk and we wanted to do something here. This gym is the result of that.”
The Waterfront building, which is being converted to created changing rooms, showers and a gym containing the latest hi-tech equipment, offers views of the Wet Dock marinas.
Mrs Hayden added: “It is absolutely heaven. It is lovely here, every time of the day and night.”
