TWO high-achieving apprentices were given a taste of life in the fast lane after graduating from a three-year course.
Oliver Goldsmith, 19, of Monkwick, Colchester, and Mark Springett, 22, of Ipswich Road, Colchester, took a spin in a race-prepared Volkswagen and drove performance road cars around the Silverstone track.
The pair, who are service technicians at Colchester Volkswagen retailer Lindvale, spent a day with Volkswagen's racing team as a reward for passing their course.
Lindvale aftersales manager Jim Wood said: “Delivering excellent customer service is our top priority and the investment we make in our staff is second to none. The Silverstone day was a reward for Oliver and Mark's three years of hard work.
“We are pleased that Volkswagen national training and development division, the Volkswagen Academy, chose to recognise their achievements in such a spectacular fashion.”
