PAUL Owen has joined the four star Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket as executive chef.
He will be sourcing the majority of ingredients for the two AA rosette Orangery Restaurant where possible from a 10 to 15 mile radius.
Originally from Cleveland, he won the Brake Brothers Chef Competition in 2003 and has worked in some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in the country.
“I am passionate about using local suppliers and where possible the finest seasonal organic produce,” he said.
“The Orangery is well known for its high standards and I am very much looking forward to raising them even higher. We will certainly be aiming to achieve a third AA rosette.”
Hotel managing director Noel Byrne said: “Paul's appointment is a huge coup for us and we are delighted to have him on board. With his outstanding experience and flair we are looking forward to building on the Orangery's already first class reputation and maintaining our position as one of Suffolk's leading restaurants.”
