It is becoming an increasingly complex world for small businesses, with a vast range of business technology and software available.

A new Ipswich business is hoping to cut through the complexities of technology for other firms.

Powerplay Projects aims to provide individual solutions for companies who are faced with a vast range of tech and software available.

Founder Robin Penfold launched it in March, originally at Basepoint business centre, after working as a freelance and for other companies in the sector.

Mr Penfold, 35, said: “We can provide anything from stand-alone apps for iPads to fully integrated systems.

“I really like the creativity of building bespoke systems for businesses.

“I think it can have a really positive effect on people’s businesses.”

Clients range from a long-established embroidery company to a fire prevention business.

For the embroidery company he built a customised system to manage the whole business, from materials to orders, invoices and accounts.

Mr Penfold is assisted by wife Beccy, who does administration and project management.

“In the longer term I hope to grow the customer base, and to employ people as we grow,” he added.
