Dardan Security, which provides security backed up by technology, already has offices in Ipswich and Norwich and employs more than 500 staff.

The firm provides front-line security services including manned guarding, mobile patrols, CCTV, search dogs and key holding and response. The company provides security solutions to a number of industry sectors, including aviation, energy, research and scientific laboratories, industrial, commercial and retail.

It also holds a number of public sector contracts for local authorities in East Anglia.

The new offices in Hinton Way, Great Shelford, Cambridge and Newark Road, Peterborough, are in addition to its head office in Norwich and regional hubs in Aberdeen and Ipswich. The company says it plans to create “a number” of new jobs as they expand their client base.

Managing director Philip Anthony said: “We are delighted to be opening these two new offices, which will bolster our services to clients in these areas.

“Dardan is one of the leading security companies in the region and we service a great many blue chip companies from London to Aberdeen. The opening of the new offices reflects our continued growth and will enable us to offer an even higher level of service to customers in Cambridgeshire and southwards along the M11 corridor.”

Dardan is already well established in the area. Cambridge clients include building products manufacturer Forterra and Sepura, a global manufacturer of digital radio products and systems for business and critical communication.

Steve Jeynes, regional operations manager (Bricks) for Forterra, said: “Dardan Security provides our Kings Dyke Brickworks with 24/7 year round coverage along with a patrolling presence over our Quarry and Service Centre. From the outset of the contract, I have been impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. The team of guards deployed at our site are both courteous and diligent whilst still maintaining the necessary deterrent factor. The manner in which they approach their duties has enhanced our image to both employees and visitors alike.”

David Phillips, facilities co-ordinator at Sepura, said his business used Dardan’s staff for out of hours reception and security duty.

“We have been impressed with the professionalism and positive attitude of the staff that have been provided. The security guards are consistently well trained, knowledgeable and flexible as to the needs of a major international HQ business.”

Mr Anthony, an experienced security industry professional, has worked within the private security sector for almost 25 years for companies including Securicor, Reliance, G4S, OCS and Knightsbridge.
