AN apprentice parts adviser at Colchester Toyota has scooped a national award.

Sam Sheekey, 19, of Elmstead Market, was crowned Toyota National Apprentice of the Year after finishing two years of his three-year NVQ Level 3 in customer service and Toyota parts operations.

He was selected by his tutors at the new Toyota/Lexus Academy in Nottingham to compete in a final which featured dealerships from throughout the UK.

He was awarded a trophy and DAB radio at an awards dinner at the East Midlands Hilton Hotel.

Colchester Toyota operations director Tim Brownsdon said: “We are so proud of Sam. We were sure he would get this award and are delighted for him.

“Of course, we are equally proud that Toyota has chosen an apprentice parts adviser from our dealership. We see a great career for Sam with Colchester Toyota.”
