In the pink - Sarah’s Carers launches in east Suffolk
Nurse Sarah Seaman wants to change the perception of the home care profession - from something that is in crisis to a service that the people in it are proud of doing for their clients.
Mrs Seaman, who ran her own home care agency in Oxfordshire, moved to east Suffolk after her husband died, in order to be closer to her mother.
Now, along with her daughter Nicola Edwards, she has launched Sarah’s Carers from Wickham Market.
“I am passionate about improving the image of the home care sector,” she said.
Sarah’s Carers wear pink so that they are visible in the community. Her staff are also salaried, which she said was “rare”.
“By building a resilient well-respected, well-managed, well-trained, well-paid team of carers we can help address the anticipated deficit of carers and ensure more people get the opportunity for help in order to stay at home,” she added.
