A beer festival showcasing the best of Suffolk’s brewers has been celebrated as a “fantastic success” after hundreds turned out to appreciate some of the county’s rarer ales and ciders.
Turner and Taylor’s Hog & Ale Experience brought 24 of the county’s 28 brewers to Saxmundham Market Hall over the weekend for its three-day Brewers’ Choice festival.
Festival organiser Ross Turner said the event was “extremely busy” and “enjoyed by all”. “I think it has raised awareness about the high quality brewers we have here in Suffolk and also the many of different varieties the county has to offer,” he added.
Visitors were able to sample varieties of ale and cider that were not necessarily best sellers but had been put forward by the brewers as their personal favourites.
Mr Turner said all the brews were well received, particularly by visitors from the Campaign for Real Ale, but the first to sell out was Mill Green’s Golden Fleece.
Festival-goers were also entertained with live music each evening, including performances from the Broadside Boys, Moving Waves and Simon Tricker.
