STEVEN Law, partner and head of business recovery at East Anglian chartered accountants Ensors, has been elected vice president of R3, the trade body for insolvency professionals.

STEVEN Law, partner and head of business recovery at East Anglian chartered accountants Ensors, has been elected vice president of R3, the trade body for insolvency professionals.

Mr Law said he was “honoured” to receive the accolade from his peers and would continue to work closely with the eastern regional committee to provide support and help to the local business community.

“I have been active within R3 for some 17 years, most recently as an elected council member, and I am looking forward to continuing my involvement at a national level,” he said.

“I am keen to stay at the forefront of industry developments and my new role will enable me to do this, as well as shape how the industry moves forwards during these very difficult times. In turn, I hope that my 19 years of working in the business turnaround industry will provide R3 with some additional practical hands-on experience.”

Laurence Weeks, chairman of R3's eastern regional committee and partner at Cambridge law firm Taylor Vinters said: “We in the eastern region are delighted by Steven's appointment. It is an appropriate recognition for the tremendous work that he has done within in the business recovery industry and we wish him well in the new role.”

Mr Law's appointment will last for one year, after which he will become president for a further 12 months. He will continue as partner at Ensors chartered accountants and head of the business recovery unit during this time.
