Stowmarket Town Council wants to build on its rich history as a market town by introducing new stallholders to its twice-weekly events.

The town holds markets every Thursday and Saturday and these are growing under market warden Jerry Humphreys.

“The bustling market place adds vibrancy and diversity to the local economy and the town’s official ‘market town’ status is an enviable asset that we want to develop and build upon with the help of our market warden,” it said.

Will Wooster, of Wooster’s Bakery, a recent addition to the street market, said: “There’s nothing better than freshly made bread and seeing a gap in the market place it was a perfect opportunity to bring our products from our bakery in Bardwell to the community of Stowmarket.”
