ELWOOD Landscape Design (ELD), which is based at Mendlesham Green, near Stowmarket, has been appointed to the consultant panel of Anchor, a major not-for-profit provider of housing and care for older people.

Anchor is next year due to start work on a programme of new building, involving more than 1,100 properties, and ELD will now be responsible for delivering landscape architectural services at Anchor’s planned care villages and extra care developments across the south of England over the next five years.

Ruth Elwood, director of ELD, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed by Anchor, one of the country’s leading care home providers.

“We are really looking forward to working with them on their new strategic framework, to create high quality external garden spaces and well considered landscapes for residents of retirement villages and extra care developments.

“We aim to bring to life Anchor’s commitment to creating ‘Happy living for the years ahead’.”

Keir Jones, Anchor’s head of property and construction contracts, said: “The bid from ELD was excellent and provided a real insight into the practice’s capabilities.

“This understanding was more than reinforced by the obvious effort that went into the presentation at the interview stage, combined with their technical knowledge and commitment to a most comprehensive submission, which outshone all other applicants.

“The Anchor interview panel was left in no doubt who they wanted as their preferred provider of landscape architecture services.”
