The website of Suffolk’s official tourism body has been nominated for another leading award.

Having already won the Travel Mole Best Tourist Board Website title, www.visitsuffolk.com has now been shorlisted in the Sport & Leisure category of the Brand Republic Digital Awards.

The current version of the website, designed by Southwold-based agency Spring, was launched in January 2014 and incorporates a user-friendly “Take Me To Suffolk” interactive map – a concept described by Visit England chief executive James Berresford as “breaking the mould of tourism websites”.

A 16-week promotional campaign to support the site’s launch helped to generate more than £1.2million in tourism business, representing a return on investment of 32:1.

The Brand Republic awards will be announced on June 18.
