A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a collision on the A140 at Little Stonham this morning.
Police were called at 6.20am to reports a car had crashed into a concrete bollard outside the Magpie Inn causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
A 45-year-old man was later arrested and taken to hospital for a check up before being questioned at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
He remains in police custody tonight.
A spokesman said: “We were called to a single vehicle road traffic collision at about 6.20am this morning.
“A vehicle had hit a concrete bollard but thankfully it was damage only and nobody suffered any injuries.”
One lane of the A140 was closed for a short time while officers worked at the scene.
