Staff and residents at Woodbridge Lodge care home in Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, were joined by families, local Scouts and volunteers for a garden spruce-up.
Home manager Donna Minshull said: “We had a really successful day planting flowers, trimming bushes and painting garden furniture.”
The day, which finished with a barbecue, was part of the home’s preparations for Kingsley in Bloom, an inter-home garden competition organised by Kingsley Healthcare.
Woodbridge Lodge will be competing against the other 28 homes in the group. Judging categories will see homes challenged to make displays out of “Pots, pans and watering cans”, “All things edible”, “See, Feel and Smell” (a sensory garden) and “Best flowering bed”.
Mrs Minshull said: “We are lucky to have a fabulous garden and we’ll be working hard to make the most of it in time for the judges’ visit next month.”
