Three fire crews and an air ambulance attended a high-rise building in Ipswich after a person was taken ill in a fifth floor flat.

The emergency services were called to a block of flats on Fore Street at 10.15am today following reports of a medical emergency.

Firefighters cordoned off a stretch of the Ipswich Waterfront while an air ambulance touched down nearby.

The fire service confirmed that the casualty had suffered a cardiac arrest and was left in the care of paramedics. Their condition is unknown at this time.
