A story published on our website yesterday stated that Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP Dr Dan Poulter had agreed to repay a £229 expenses claim he owed to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority. We would like to make it clear that this is not the case.
The £229 related to a legitimate expenses claim for which IPSA had not been provided with an invoice. Dr Poulter is now providing the invoice, so no money will have to be refunded to IPSA. There is no suggestion that Dr. Poulter has acted in any way inappropriately.
We are happy to correct the error and we are sorry for any distress caused to Dr. Poulter.
