POLICE would like to hear from anyone with information about an assault and robbery which happened in Chelmsford High Street at Stonebridge on March 2.

The victim had been busking at the bridge from around midnight when at about 12.30am two suspects ran towards him and grabbed his guitar case containing the money from his busking.

Both suspects ran down ‘Stonebridge walk’ towards the side of Marks & Spencer.

The victim gave chase and as he reached the side of Marks & Spencer the second suspect appeared from behind a wall and punched him - briefly knocking him unconscious.

The man was treated by ambulance paramedics at the scene and suffered bruising and cuts to his head and face.

Both suspects are described as white, aged 20 to 40, and with short dark brown hair. One was about 5ft 9ins tall and the other 5ft 10ins.
