The armed robbery of a teenage boy at a park in Chelmsford has prompted a police appeal for information.

Witnesses are also being sought in relation to the robbery in Admirals Park on May 25 when a teenage boy says that he was robbed by two young men in their late teens, both of whom had small guns similar to BB guns.

It happened at about 5.30pm when the 15-year-old boy was alone in the park and two men approached him and demanded his phone and cash. The suspects are described as both black, early to late teens; one wearing black tracksuit trousers with two white stripes on the leg and a green hoodie pullover. He was about 6ft tall, athletic, of muscular build and was wearing gloves and a balaclava. The other suspect was wearing a black hoodie and mid-blue baggy jeans.

Investigating officer Dc Michelle Mauger said: “The park is usually a busy place and it was still light outside so I would urge anyone who saw the suspects before or after the incident or anyone with any information to contact me at Chelmsford CID on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
