A crash in Chelmsford involving a bus and a pedal cyclist has left an elderly passenger with serious head injuries.

The accident happened at about 10.45am yesterday in North Avenue when the bus travelling towards Melbourne Avenue was involved in a collision with a pedal cyclist.

This collision resulted in the male passenger on the bus receiving serious injuries. The man, in his 90s and from Chelmsford, was taken by air ambulance to Queens Hospital in Romford.

Police are also seeking the rider of the pedal cycle, a teenage boy, who was seen initially by paramedics, but then left his cycle at the scene and left the area. Police are concerned that he was injured and need him to contact them.
