Police have released CCTV images of a man suspected of stealing a vacuum cleaner from a supermarket.

The item was stolen from an ASDA store in Queen Elizabeth II Square, Chelmsford, just before 12.10am on Thursday, July 11.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “A man walked in to the store and selected the item from the display. He then walked out carrying it on his shoulder, making no attempt to pay.”

Detectives are tracing the man in a bid to question him over the incident.
