MOTORISTS in Chelmsford could face delays this afternoon as the fire service carries out a training exercise.
The drill will be conducted in the Springfield Road, Arbour Lane and Sandford Road area of the town between 2.15pm and 4.15pm.
Drivers in the town have been advised by the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service to avoid the area.
A spokesman said: “The incident is designed to test the service's capability to get water supplies to a large-scale incident and a number of lengths of hose will be running across the busy junction.
“With this in mind, we would ask those that can to avoid the area during this time.”
