A four-year-old girl is believed to have suffered “life-changing injuries” after being hit by a lorry.
The girl was hit near the fire station in Waterhouse Lane, Chelmsford at around 3.30pm.
She was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel after suffering leg injuries. A police spokeswoman said the injuries were believed to be life changing, but not life threatening.
Waterhouse Lane remains closed following the incident, with heavy traffic in both directions.
