Firefighters stepped in to help today after a child was locked in a car along with the keys.

A crew from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident in Aldeburgh just before 2.50pm.

The team from Aldeburgh Fire Station used a specialist tool to get into the car and free the child.

The incident was under control after 10 minutes.

A spokesman for the bridge said: “Aldeburgh were alerted to the incident to find a child and keys locked in the car. Using the Big Easy tool we managed to gain access retrieve the keys and release the child.

“Aldeburgh then returned to station.”
