FIREFIGHTERS and coastguards rescued two children trapped in mud off Point Clear, St Osyth, this evening.
Emergency services were informed at around 5.20pm that the boy and girl, both aged 12, were stuck, and after conducting a search located them. The girl had managed to escape from the mud but the boy remained trapped.
Firefighters using dry suits were sent to rescue the youngsters and shortly after 6.10pm Thames Coastguard reported that both had been rescued and were safe and well.
