A Suffolk singer has performed the role of Mozart’s mistress in a theatre where the great composer wrote one of his masterpieces for.
Christina Johnston, who will soon be returning to Suffolk for a homecoming tour, transformed the normally silent character of Katerina Cavalieri into a main singing role for the Prague Shakespeare Company’s Broadway production of Amadeus.
“It was an amazing experience all held at the famous Estates Theatre, Prague, where Mozart conducted himself and wrote Don Giovanni for,” Christina said. “The conductor was famous British film conductor, James Sheerman.”
Christina, who has spent much of her career establishing an international fanbase from the Czech capital, is preparing for the release of her debut album “Blessing” on September 22.
Her album tour, The Miracle of the Voice, starts the following day with concerts in Aldeburgh, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Cambridge, Norwich, Chelmsford, Peterborough, Ely and more.
