Scores of eager civilians were put through their paces by a group of Royal Marines in Essex at the weekend to raise cash for a military charity.
The event, at Great Notley Country Park on Sunday, January 13, saw 135 men and women take on a host of gruelling obstacles, spurred on by veteran Royal Marines from Essex Boot Camp.
The brave participants took on the challenge to raise money for Rock2Recovery, a charity which helps hundreds of British military veterans and their families deal with the challenges of stress and trauma-related injuries.
The course included log runs, tyre lifts, leopard crawls through cold mud, hill runs and piggyback sprints - pushing those taking part to the limit of their endurance.
Essex Boot Camp co-founder, and former Royal Marine Glynn Roberts, said the event was “a pretty close approximation of the kind of training a Royal Marine goes through every day.”
