Firefighters in Essex were called to a house in Clacton on Monday evening after it was reported that a dishwasher had caught fire.
Two crews from Clacton were sent to the scene, in Neasden Avenue, at 8.10pm.
Firefighters used a bucket of water to extinguish the blaze at about 8.20pm.
An investigation will be carried out to find out the cause of the fire.
