A MAN has died following a crash in Clacton involving a car and a recovery truck. The two-vehicle collision occurred on the B1441 Clacton Road, between Little Clacton and Weeley.
The accident happened at about 10.10pm last night when a Hyundai car was in collision with a recovery truck, before leaving the road and hitting a brick wall.
A police spokesman said: “The driver of the Hyundai, a man in his 80s, was taken to Colchester hospital but died shortly after arrival. Police are investigating the possibility that he may have been taken ill at the wheel.”
The B1441 was closed for several hours whilst a forensic examination of the scene was carried out.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation unit on 101.
