A MAN was rescued from the sea off Clacton pier after Coastguard crews received reports of a suicidal man entering the water.
Thames Coastguard were alerted by Essex Police who were concerned for the man’s welfare yesterday at around 2.15pm.
The Clacton Coastguard and Clacton RNLI inshore lifeboat were tasked to search for the man who was spotted heading towards Clacton pier.
A spokesman for the Coastguard said the man entered the water near to the pier and was rescued by the teams, who wrapped him in blankets to keep him warm until the arrival of an ambulance.
