Two children were approached by a man who asked them to get in his car in a Suffolk town, police said.
The 13-year-old children were walking along Bridewell Street in Clare when a man in a medium-sized four-door black car pulled in to a lay-by nearby, opened a car door and asked them to get in.
The children refused and the man drove off in the direction of the centre of Clare.
The incident took place between 4pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The man is described as white, 60-70 years old, had short grey hair at the back and sides and was balding on the top.
Call police on 101.
