The westbound lane of the A14 between junction 53, the Whitehouse Interchange and B1113 was blocked causing queues of traffic as far back as Whitehouse following a crash at 9.15am.
Although the collision between the red Peugeot and silver Saab was minor, one of the vehicles rolled over causing the initial closure of the lane.
Neither of the drivers were serioulsy hurt in the crash but were checked by paramedics and taken to Ipswich Hospital.
The road re-opened at 10.46am after recovery services cleared the lane.
