A woman was left injured after a suspected Staffordshire Bull Terrier bit her and her dog in a park in Suffolk.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward after the owner of the dog which carried out the attack was seen driving off from the scene in Exeter Road, Claydon.

The woman suffered minor hand injuries in the incident which took place at around 4pm on Saturday.

In a statement, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “A woman was walking her dog when an auburn coloured ‘Staffordshire Bull Terrier type-dog’ approached. The auburn coloured dog bit her dog and the woman on the hand.

“The white male owner of the dog was seen to leave in a silver Volkswagen Polo.

“The victim sustained minor injuries to her hand.”

Witnesses or people with information relating to this incident are urged to call police on 101.
