Emergency repairs to a burst water main are expected leave one lane of a busy road in Colchester closed until the weekend,
Anglia Water’s 10 inch pipe, which burst late last night beneath the A1124 Southway at Balkerne Hill, is expected to take four days to locate, repair and recover.
“It is quite a large section that we need to replace so it’s expected to take four days to repair,” said a spokesman.
Traffic was reportedly slow moving earlier this morning because of the repairs.
The spokesman for Anglian Water said that customers’ water supply was unaffected.
