James Martin, 36, of Speedwell Road, Colchester, will appear at Colchester Magistrates Court this morning charged with GBH with intent.
This follows the stabbing of a 45-year-old man from Colchester in Speedwell Road on October 5.
The victim is now stable in hospital.
