DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Colchester.

The attack happened when a 21-year-old local man was walking home along Oxford Road at around 9.15pm on Thursday.

While walking towards Creffield Road, he was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife, forcing him to hand over his bank card.

Investigating officer Pc Mark Peacock, said: “We’re looking to speak with anyone who saw this interaction between the two men.

“The victim had just left the nearby Tesco Express and was returning home when he was stopped by this man.”

The attacker is white, in his late 20s, of stocky build, spoke with a northern accent and was wearing a black jacket with a black hood and black trousers.

The victim was uninjured during the incident.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
