A WOMAN is appealing for the safe return of her pet tortoise which is believed to have been stolen from her home in Colchester.
Billy is thought to have been taken from a rear garden off Long Acre between noon and 2pm on Friday.
The spur-thighed tortoise is believed to be in his mid-40s.
Anyone with information in connection with this theft or who finds Billy is urged to contact investigating officers at Colchester police station on 101.
