DETECTIVES are renewing their appeal for information following an assault in Colchester which left a man requiring neurological therapy.

The attack happened near The George Hotel on High Street at 3.30am on Sunday, November 25. An altercation ensued between an 18-year-old local man and three other men resulting in the lone man being punched in the face and falling to the ground unconscious.

Investigating Officer Dc Tim Harris said: “We have now acquired the CCTV from the town centre. Although it does not clearly show all three assailants, it does show one who appears to be dressed in light-brown clothing and is captured walking by Wimpy.

“Furthermore, one of his friends was walking around with blue hair which he had dyed at the time. These two individuals and their third friend need identifying.”

The victim was treated in a neurological intensive therapy unit after he underwent surgery for the head injuries he had sustained during the assault. He had been enjoying a night out with friends at the time. He is now recovering at home.

Anyone with information in connection with this assault is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
