A man has been charged following a spate of burglaries in Colchester, some of which were alleged to have involved weapons.
Conor Ashton, 23, of Purcell Close, Colchester has been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and five counts of burglary with intent to steal.
Aggravated burglary is committed when a burglar enters and “at the time has with him a firearm, imitation firearm, weapon of offence, or any explosive”.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, September 22.
