Steve Roper, chairman of the SIL Senior Division club, said: “We are delighted and I’m sure with the combination of experience and enthusiasm we will without doubt become one of the leading contenders for honours.
“Kevin has great respect within local football circles with a vast contact list and has certainly impressed me and my committee his desire to see Cranes become a success.”
Sharman’s first game will be the Suffolk Senior Cup tie against Sudbury Athletic at Greshams on Saturday October 9.
