Police were contacted shortly after 4pm yesterday by members of the public who were concerned by a glider they saw in a nearby field.

Sudbury and Haverhill response team were called to the sight where a glider it’s pilot were found in a field next to the A134 at Cockfield.

The glider was forced to make a controlled emergency landing after losing touch with their thermals according to Police.

Thankfully no one was hurt.

Police were able to assist in the removal of the plane, which was heading for Peterborough, by 4.20pm.
