FIREFIGHTERS were called to the smoke logged top floor of an Ipswich eatery in the early hours of this morning.
A crew were alerted to a fire at Jack's Café in Hadleigh Road, at 3.06am.
Upon arrival they discovered smoke issuing from a window of rented accommodation above the café.
A fire was located in one of the flats on the first floor of the two story building which lies between Sainsbury's supermarket and petrol station.
Firefighters required breathing apparatus to help tackle the flames but had extinguished the blaze and cleared the building of smoke by 3.50am.
