FIREFIGHTERS spent an hour extinguishing a field blaze that engulfed 20 acres of land near Bury St Edmunds.
Crews from Bury and Wickhambrook were called to Bury Road, Chedburgh, at about 5pm yesterday and were joined by firefighters from Clare and Haverhill shortly afterwards.
The fire covered three fields burning through stubble and hedgerows but was under control by 6pm.
