A man who attempted to arrange to have sex with a child was jailed this week as well as a burglar and a London drug dealer. Take a look at how long they spend behind bars.

A Felixstowe man who attempted to arrange to have sex with a 11-year-old was jailed for two years.

Clifford Peel, 56, of High Road West, entered into an online chat with an undercover police woman who was posing as a 32-year-old mum with a young daughter. Peel told the mother how he wanted to have sex with her 11-year-old daughter and sent a picture of himself in his underpants for the child to see. In court he admitted attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence, to making an indecent film of a child and to possessing extreme pornographic images of children.

A Chelmsford burglar who pretended he wasn’t in 15 minutes after he committed a crime was jailed for a year.

Ian Slater, 39, of Pembroke Place, burgled a home in Chelmsford and left with a bag of items including a phone despite being challenged by the homeowner. Officers identified an address of interest and saw Slater through the window with the stolen goods and turning the lights off to pretend he wasn’t in. The officers then called the victim’s phone and could hear it ringing in Slater’s possession.

A London drug dealer who stabbed a man in Ipswich was jailed for eight years.

Patrick Butler, 25, Bow Road, London, visited a flat in Ipswich when he was drunk and popping pills. He then produced a flick knife and slashed his victim in the face and then stabbed him in the arm - leaving a wound which needed eleven stitches. Butler pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding, possessing criminal property, possessing cannabis and possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
