Here is our monthly look back at some of the criminals jailed in Suffolk and north Essex courts in November.

A violent thief who robbed a deaf man he had known since childhood was jailed for six years.

Sean Dickson, 25, of Worcester Way, Gorleston, was found guilty of stealing bank cards in the attack in Lowestoft which left the victim with a broken nose and eye socket.

A con woman who tricked her way into a string of elderly people’s homes in Suffolk and Norfolk to steal valuables and items of sentimental value was jailed for six years.

Tracey Parker-Smith, 33, of London Road, Downham Market, was described by a judge as a “thoroughly dishonest individual” who deliberately targeted elderly vulnerable people to steal whatever she could from their homes in a 14-day “frenzy” of distraction burglaries.

A man who stashed 80 wraps of Class A drugs in his underwear was jailed for three years.

Ryan Thomas, 19, Norman Crescent, Brentwood, admitted to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply after being found with 77 wraps of cocaine and three wraps of diamorphine in his underwear.

A London man who came to Ipswich to sell drugs was jailed for three years.

Ashley Bramble, 29, of London, was arrested by an officer who was keeping watch on a block of flats in Ipswich and found Bramble with eight wraps of crack cocaine, one of heroin and £500 in cash.

A burglar who stole £15,000 worth of paintings and furniture was jailed for five years.

Timothy Killick, 56, with no fixed address, forced himself into a property in Hartest, near Bury St Edmunds. He took the items worth £15,000 and loaded them into a vehicle.

An Ipswich drug dealer who swallowed heroin wraps was jailed for four years and four months.

Alexander Rozmus, 37, of London Road, Ipswich, swallowed four wraps of heroin during a police drug raid and told the police it was ice cream. Rozmus admitted being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

A night-time burglar who stole property worth £290,000 during break-ins at 35 houses was jailed for six years.

Stephen Mainwaring, 51, of Shepherd’s Grove Industrial Estate, Stanton, was described by the judge as a “professional night-time burglar” and said he had caused “untold pain, anguish and heartache” to the victims of the burglaries.

A revenge fire starter who started two fires in a block of flats was jailed for nine years.

David Grothier, 49, of Chinook, Colchester, was described as having a “burning desire for revenge” after starting the flat fires due to a falling out with his neighbours who lived in the block of flats, resulting in £33,000 worth of damage.

A duo who attacked a house with an axe was jailed for a total of two years and three months.

Ann Cracknell and Graham Clarke, 55 and 52, of Combs Wood Drive and Hillside in Stowmarket, were seen shouting and acting aggressively outside a Stowmarket house. Cracknell was then seen trying to attack the house with an axe before handing it to Clarke who smashed the windows at the front of the property with it. Cracknell received one year and Clarke received one year and three months.

A man who is banned from Ipswich town centre due to anti-social behaviour was jailed for four months.

Michael Smith, 52, of no fixed address, admitted to being abusive to staff and members of the public at Ipswich Hospital and store workers in Carr Street. He also entered Ipswich town centre four times in a week despite being banned for three years back in June.

Masked men who attacked a father and a son with a bat were jailed for a total of 23 and a half years.

Phillip Jolly and Aidan Talbot, 24 and 25, of Broadfields Close in Gislingham, and Cranley Road in Eye, were found guilty of attacking a father and son at a home in Gislingham. The duo were both wearing masks and attacked the victims with a bat and a metal object. Jolly received nine-and-a-half years and Talbot received 14 years.

A child sex offender was jailed for five-and-a-half years.

Colin Grant, 48, of Leaden Close, Leaden Roding, admitted to a string of online child sex offences after a police raid at his home following intelligence. He posed as a teenage girl online to ask for explicit images. He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A child sex offender was jailed for one year and eight months.

Andrew Chaplin, 42, of Waveney Road, Bury St Edmunds, admitted breaching a sexual offences prevention order and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. He was found with a teenager in his car after contacting them on Facebook. He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
