UP to sixty pooches put their best paw forward in an annual Suffolk dog show.
The event took place at Martlesham Animal Centre yesterday and saw scores of canine competitors battle it out in a series of classes.
Daz, a nine-month old Terrier cross, won the branch heat of the RSPCA Dog of the Year and will now go forward to the national final.
Daz was originally rescued from a travellers' site where his tail had been cut off and taken in by the animal centre. He was adopted by a family and is now looking in fantastic shape.
The winner of the best in show was a six-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier called Mist.
Kate Cundy, RSPCA branch administrator, said: “It's the first stand alone dog show we have done here. “Lots of people turned up and lots of dogs came back that we had re-homed from here so it was really nice to see them having fun.
“It was open to all dogs and we had a separate rescue class which is part of the national RSPCA Dog of the Year.”
